In Lagos, a multistory building containing a bank and apartments exploded. At least thirty people died, and police had to deal with hundreds of looters going after the cash thrown out of the bank. The explosion was probably an accident, the result of compressed gas and explosives illegally stored in the building. There was apparently a fire in the building before the explosion.
