A ten year old Palestinian girl was killed, in Gaza,  by a bullet in the head. Israeli troops were blamed, although there were no Israeli troops operating in the area. At the time the girl was hit, hundreds of bullets had just been fired into the air to celebrate the return of religious pilgrims. Palestinians tend to deny the effect of these falling bullets, despite frequent injuries and deaths. In this case, the eagerness to blame someone else has turned into a major crises, because some Hamas terrorists promptly fired mortar shells into southern Israel to "avenge" the dead girl. Palestinian police eventually blamed, and arrested, a Palestinian, who was firing his gun into the air near where the girl was hit.
