A three day meeting of 70 former senior Iraqi army officers in Britain closed with the formation of a war council to support a military operation to overthrow the current government of Iraq. The US hopes that this war council will provide assistance in getting current Iraqi army officers to surrender and assist in the formation of a new government. There are currently some 1500 former Iraqi army officers in exile.
