The fighting in Aceh is becoming more intense. Today, at least seven soldiers were killed in action against separatist rebels. Since the government offensive began on May 19th, 23 soldiers and police have died, as well as 160 rebels (some of whom may have been civilians caught in the crossfire). Another hundred rebels had surrendered and 200 more were taken prisoner.
