The heroin trade has become one of the largest businesses in the country. Over three million people make most of their living off the various drug production activities. Most of these are farmers growing poppies, but others collect the poppies and process them into drugs and smuggle the drugs out of the country. In the last year, poppy production was estimated at 3,400 tons. While legitimate businesses continue to appear, the easiest way to make a lot of money is still the drug business.
