The Israeli air force got it's first female fighter pilot in late June. It took a lawsuit in 1997 to allow women to even apply. Since then, three women have graduated from the less rigorous navigator ("gal in the back") course. Israel did not lower it's standards for women, so there is no resentment among the male pilots at having to serve to less qualified women. Once women pass all the rigorous entry requirements, they pass the course at about the same rate as men.
