: Abrams In The City Fight- The US Army's heavy M1A1 Abrams tank is, like all tanks, vulnerable in the city fight and its "three block war" as enemy tank hunter teams can get relatively close without being detected. Some low-cost modifications could make it a much better city-fighting tank: 

@ Provide precision aiming for the 12.7mm machinegun to deal with snipers

@ Add a Mark-19 automatic grenade launcher to provide low-energy high explosive rounds.

@ Add fiber-optic cameras so the crew would have full visibility.

@ Install a mini-turret with a7.62mm machinegun on the loader's hatch, allowing the gun to be fired from under armor.

@ Add additional spaced armor on the turret roof.

@ Develop a new canister round for the main cannon.--Stephen V Cole
