The US Army is seeking new engines to replace the 1,500hp Textron-Lycoming AGT1500 turbines in the M1 tank fleet to improve performance and reduce costs. The two candidates are the EuroPowerPack MTU883 V12 diesel (1,500hp) and the LV100 turbine developed by Allied Signal.--Stephen V Cole
