Boeing continued work on its Sonic Cruiser, a passenger aircraft with serious military applications. This aircraft could carry 225 passengers at Mach-0.95 and still meet all current noise and pollution limits (even in Europe). The aircraft would be about 225 feet long with 170-foot wingspan and would need about 11,000 feet of runway to land.--Stephen V Cole
