The Czech Republic will take the lead in developing an upgrade package for about 100 Mil-24 Hind gunships used by Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic itself. NATO has encouraged those members who have these aircraft to upgrade them as they are excellent for peacekeeping and peace enforcement missions due to their armor, firepower, and ability to carry a squad of special forces.--Stephen V Cole
